In 2026 we set up Nexus AI Advisory, a new Stella Novus company. Its job is simple to describe: to help businesses adopt AI in a practical way, with a clear view of what it can and cannot do for them.
We did not start Nexus because AI is fashionable. We started it because we have spent years running publishing and education businesses ourselves, and we kept meeting other business owners who were asking the same questions we had asked. Where should we start? What is worth paying for? What are the risks with our data and our customers? Who can we ask for a straight answer?
What Nexus does
Nexus works with businesses that want to use AI but are not sure where it fits. In practice, that usually means:
Looking at how the business actually runs today, and where time and effort go.
Identifying a small number of tasks where AI could reasonably help, and being honest about the ones where it probably would not.
Helping teams try those ideas in a contained way before committing more time or money.
Thinking through data protection and regulation, including GDPR and the EU AI Act, early rather than late.
Supporting the people side of change, which is often harder than the technology.
Our aim is to recommend whatever fits the business in front of us, whether that is a particular tool, a change in process, or doing nothing for now.
Who is behind it
Nexus has five advisors with more than 100 years of combined experience between them:
Dr Ioannis Syrigos leads on strategy. He runs Stella Novus and its publishing and education businesses, including Ancient Origins.
Prof. Nikos Fakotakis brings AI research experience, with more than 400 publications and more than 40 R&D projects.
Dimitris Vrachnos focuses on adoption and business change, drawing on more than 25 years of scaling organisations in Europe.
Sakis (Athanasios) Serafeim is Partner and Chief Commercial Officer. He has more than 20 years of experience in dental production and hospitality, and has run Architooth Dental Laboratory in Thessaloniki since 2009.
Lucie Loiseau leads on data governance, including GDPR and the EU AI Act.
We think the mix matters. Research knowledge on its own is not enough, and neither is business experience on its own. Most of the questions businesses bring to us sit somewhere in between.
How we like to work
We try to keep things small and concrete. We would rather help a business get one useful thing working properly than produce a long strategy document that nobody reads. If, after looking at a business, we think AI is not the right answer to its problem, we will say so.
We also try to be open about uncertainty. AI tools change quickly, and some of what is said about them does not hold up in daily use. Part of our role is to help clients separate what is useful now from what may be useful later.
Starting a conversation
Nexus offers a free 30-minute consultation. It is a chance to talk through where your business is, what you are hoping AI might help with, and whether working together makes sense. There is no obligation.
